Ever since China set up its first air defense identification zone (ADIZ) in the East China Sea in November 2013, a Chinese ADIZ has hung as a sword of Damocles over the South China Sea. The same day as China’s Ministry of Defense announced the establishment of the East China Sea ADIZ, the ministry’s spokesman proclaimed , “China will establish other air defense identification zones at an appropriate time after completing preparations.”
Since then, official statements by both China’s Ministry of National Defense and Ministry of Foreign Affairs have never ruled out the possibility of a South China Sea ADIZ, saying consistently that setting up such an ADIZ is the right of China as a sovereign state.
Will China set up a South China Sea ADIZ? If it does, when will it do so, and with what size and scope? These questions have been raised numerous times since November 2013. A South China Sea ADIZ was again a hot issue following a remark by China’s Vice Foreign Minister in relation to the Permanent Court of Arbitration’s South China Sea ruling. How do you predict what the South China Sea ADIZ?
Truth is honest : No war flare up around in SCS and maitain Asean Member firm from break up.”Everyone knows .US is the main perpetrator, “It’s an unprecedented level of NWO”interrupting peaceful maritime commerce – this by the self-proclaimed protector of freedom of navigation,Here no jurisdiction at all. B4 a war3 start, better review all your obsolete weapons, do more research on Hyper sonic weapon and other missiles which you do not have to challenge ,China is ready for you. China does not want to attack them but prepares a very strong powerful defense by this transformation here for PEACE .
Truth is honest : Nobody can notice clearly what was behind done by US. They play a lot of dirty game around and do not want the world to know about it. Damaged relationship among Asian.China was weak that period-Neighbour countries had simply draw line overlapped claimed one another. They are the 1st build small military from China backyard 1975without informed/quietly steal first or don’t care who own’s in history.China brought back under control during 2014 after found out the intruder island’s,that40 yrs later. US military industrial complex in America and much of the Zionist West would also amass billions of dollars out of perpetual wars. Lot of negative elements effect, jealousy, unfair, distort history apply to China. US will request/want for more military bases from Asia allies especially in SCS.,perhaps that not belong to them.US keen hegemony in SCS but have no absolute right, interest & interference. US& all allies had violated intentionally. The Philippines was the first move ignored or don’t car
汤姆 : The problem with ADIZ’s is that you have to enforce them. China has, effectively, given up enforcing its East China Sea ADIZ, and that was only based on traditional maritime claims; how can it reasonably to enforce an ADIZ that covers waters hundreds of kilometers from its nearest airbase?Without an answer to this question an ADIZ will have as much effect on air traffic as a Guangzhou red light does on a Chinese E-Bike.
carledgarJohnno : What the heck is a “a high-frequency radar station”. The high frequency (HF) band only goes to 30MHz which is 2+ orders of magnitude below radar frequencies way up in Gigahertz country.Even assuming the author is a layperson to whom radar is a form of magic, is the article implying that this Chinese radar installation operates at a higher frequency than is the norm for civilian or military radar installations.Academics are welcome to write about explicit military installations only if tey are willing to learn the nomenclature involved.Over the horizon radar like the Australian JORN system is HF. Some IP been nicked?
flZsari Maxim : The CPC has stated that it is acceptable to establish an ADIZ over another countries territory.Perhaps, in keeping with the CPC’s ADIZ policies, the US should also establish an ADIZ over the Eastern PRC. THAAD has a 1500 km detection range. A THAAD system placed in South Korea and another placed in The Philippines would cover all of Eastern PRC and as far west as Xining and all of Ganxu province. The CPC could not object to US following the CPC’s own policiesBoth Japan and S. Korea’s ADIZ overlap over the disputed Dokdo island, and S. Korea’s ADIZ which is drawn by the US covers southern half of N. Korea. So one can draw ADIZ however he wishes. It has no legal status in international law anyway. The only requirement is whether one is able to enforce the zone. Japan’s ADIZ for example is very close to Chinese coast, so every time Chinese aircraft fly into the zone, Tokyo has to scramble fighters to intercept far from its base. It has been very exhausting and costly.
obamaZsari Maxim : an ADIZ declared by Vietnam is unthinkable giving the appeasement, Finlandization, that Vietnam is practicing vis a vis with China. Vietnam’s coward results from the past fear from the abandonment of Soviet Union that led to the war both on land and at sea with China which Vietnam tasted the fury of modern Chinese military. China is very quick to learn how to bully Vietnam into submission and Vietnam is playing along even at the loss of territories and sovereignty.Consider Vietnam in both 1956 and 1958 confirmed it’s recognition of Chinese declaration of sovereignty in the SCS, I don’t see what’s the fuss is about.

FauNooblewulfenstraa : Nice fear mongering propaganda, do you know there is already ADIZ in East China Sea? You seem to know everything, tell me where is MH370?Only China knows. After all, China shot it down.
wulfenstraatFauNoobl : If China declared an ADIZ over the South China Sea, it would have to explain its own actions for every missing aircraft or ship in that area. More often than not, the PRC would have to profess that it had not fired upon those vessels for “illegally” entering the ADIZ.Watch the first commercial aircraft to disappear in the SCS for international opinion to turn vehemently bellicose against Chinese hypocrisy. Listen to the nations of the world demand that Beijing provide proof that innocent lives were not lost because of an errant missile delivered under the guise of enforcing the ADIZ.Yeah, it’s not going to happen. That would be a fool’s errand that would destroy the CPC’s standing in the court of public opinion. And the US of A would love that.
karl : Things are changing. Mr Kerry the State Secretary declared that America would be neutral towards the verdict of Hague arbitration . Then, the Philippine government is to delegate their former president to Beijing to discuss the SCS dispute. Then the recent South Eastern countries conference didi not say anything on the arbitration in question in their declaration . With these development, China is expected not to talk about ADIZ, slow down the paces of islands reconstruction. As the move to withdraw his HQ-9 missiles from the SCS islands shows, the Chinese wish to cool down the whole affair for a while, at least.
karl : As the case in East Sea， American military did not recognise the ADIZ, AND dispatched B52 immediately to show defiance. However, many other parties, especially the civilian airlines, have to recognise the ADIZ in order to safeguarding their aircrafts , this included some US registered lines.
