In China when students come to class they have a cloth numbered phone pouch hanging on the wall into which they must place their devices for the duration.

Psychomanager. : Maybe I should introduce this to my training courses.
Judith Clare : So? I read books under my desk for over a year till I was caught. Children don’t change, only the devices with which they distract themselves.
KB : The students soon get wise to it. They have 2 phones one for the rack and a secret one the keep with them.
John Bowen : Can we have these in church too, please?
Karen Stead : Need one of those in my house for when the kids visit lol!!!
ShanghaiHannah : The number is probably their ranking in the class.
Selah : What a super idea. Our schools should adopt something like this. Phones have no place in the classroom during lessons.
Steven Lynch : Every home should have one, too. I am one of those very few people who don’t own a mobile. My Kindle, since joining Twitter, is gaining far more regular use, though.
Brendon Hope : No point in fighting the future. Being connected via electronic devices is the next stage in human evolution. This is akin to the luddites smashing machinery.
Vanessa Coombs : What a good idea. Maybe this should become the rule in the UK
Alan Ashworth : Wouldn’t it be better to teach kids how to use them properly? Smartphones are a fact of life now, and could be very useful in the classroom – why are we still teaching kids like it’s 1978?
Mark Fanthorpe : I’m going to make one of these for my house……especially for Christmas dinner!
Trina Hollis : What a brilliant idea they should introduce this in all schools and colleges
Paula Dixon : A very interesting idea! Certainly worth consideration, thankyou.
Laurie Hall : Yes but in this country someone would steal them.
Stuart Wilson : Should be mandatory at the White House.
Beth Richards : My daughter’s school allows no phones etc used during school day, the children accept this. It makes for better concentration & more reliance on books ( not google).
Andrea F : It’s China, theft would probably mean having their hand hacked off, or a very early extended visit to a labour camp… (But, jokes aside, that cellphone hanger is a GREAT idea. And so is learning to not steal at school.
Jim Butler : If you tried that in this country you’d probably have parents complaining of their childrens human rights being violated
