《无名之辈 》(A Cool Fish) , 2018年上映，导演饶晓志，主演陈建斌\任素汐\潘斌龙\章宇\王砚辉等。
Sean Gilman : The kind of slick, well-crafted, knotty crime thriller Hong Kong used to excel at churning out that China is becoming increasingly adept at making. That it was a hit bodes well for an industry that has been dominated for the past several years by bloated effects- and star-driven spectacles.
Ryan :] : What an absolute mess. There’s certainly a lot to be said about this film and not much to be said about it at the same time. I certainly enjoyed myself, but I don’t think I would’ve as much without seeing it in a theater. The English subtitles that were provided were often grammatically incorrect and misspelled, which just added to the experience. The plot was one of the most tonally inconsistent and confusing things I’ve ever seen in a film
Aesthetic_Mass : Definitely one of the most complete and charming Chinese movies I’ve seen in cinema in recent years. Funny, yeah, but not thoroughly shallow; complicated multi-narratives, damn, but not confusing at all; sometimes over-the-top it may be, duh, but it also practices imperfection in a surprising way. Me waiting for this kind of movie for so long, it finally arrives.
Trashcandan : An interesting film from China here it starts off as a pretty funny crime comedy film which I really enjoyed up until around the half way mark where it seems to do a 180 in tone as a melodramatic morality piece that doesn’t quite mesh with the first half in my opinion. But all in all still worth a watch I think.
Jason Seaver : A COOL FISH is a genuinely screwy movie by the time it finishes, and I’m curious as to whether the script was never quite finished or if it got screwed with. It feels like it was going to be a slick thing where everything tied together, but the filmmakers never actually got the connections to the point of being clever rather than just random coincidence, and while it could have worked as fate, that got undone by Chinese censors. That’s… more
McTryler : [Disclaimer: I do not know the censoring practices in Chinese film, but I imagine that their are certain topics, tones, ideas, and such that are frowned upon or suppressed, so there is a possibility that this movie was affected from this] This movie is a mess, not a terrible mess but a mess nonetheless. I had a decent time watching this in an empty* theater, but this movie struggled immensely with tone.
milletwong : Along with An Elephant Sitting Still, it makes sure 2018 is an important year in the contemporary Chinese film history. The new generation of Chinese film makers speak for those who feel left behind by the society.
Rodiva : I didn’t expect foreign audiences to dislike it so much; maybe it’s too raw to see, but the realness is what we love about it. I felt literal pain and warmth in the heart which I haven’t felt in a long time. The team made this film not to impress foreigners or pride the Chinese film industry, but because CHINESE PEOPLE NEED THIS FILM. We need to see the realest struggles, our regrets, our love that often times is so
bobstu : Unfortunately, this suffers from the over-dramatic acting and lack of continuity that a lot of Asian movies suffer from. It could be due to some things lost in translation.
Devyn Honbo : Saw this in a packed theater with a rowdy audience that loved every bit of this movie. Maybe the subtitles could not adequately convey the humor, but people were laughing hysterically around us and I didn’t quite understand. Still a quirky, light, enjoyable comedy.
kluseba : A Cool Fish is an action-comedy movie with a dramatic twist. It tells several different stories that are all linked.
TheBigSick : Another rare dark comedy, this A Cool Fish has a really fantastic cast. In particular, the performances of Binlong Pan and Yu Zhang are just stunning and memorable. However, the screenplay and editing falls short compared to those of Crazy Stone. There are too many coincidences and the plot lacks credibility. The editing is also somehow artificial and contrived.
cdcrb : Two wanna be hoods rob a mobile phone store, end up trapped in an apartment with a very strong headed woman. in the mean time a wanna be cop tries to find the person who stole a gun he found. there’s a lot more of course. the film is rapid fire. it’s also funny. with drama. and pretty good.
bart-62667 : The actors and actresses performed really well in this movie, the leading lady part showed us how to act without body language.
