《Are Chinese Proud to “Be Chinese Buy Chinese”? 》
Do Chinese people buy Chinese products out of national pride and support? Or are they more prone to buy things from abroad? Everyone is familiar with the phrase, be American, buy American, and with the nationalism in China, you would think the same sentiment would exist.
Power Monger ： The problem with China is there is no trust between people or with products. Chinese have no pride or care of what they make, all they care about is profit.
William Dudley ： My Chinese son in law wanted American milk powder, American baby cups, etc. because he doesn’t trust local products. “We ship for U” stores in Chinatown, NYC sell American milk powder so Chinese people can ship it home to family in China easily.
Sjors de bruijn ： I order more stuff from china than I’d like to admit, about half either arrives broken or breaks within a month. It’s quite terrible.
Boo Boo ： I avoid Chinese made products like the plague!
Ryptahi ： I actually bought Xiaomi mi notebook pro laptop from China beginning of this year and really have 0 complaints. No, I don’t currently live in China, but if it decides to break down I can trust my insurance company will take care of it. Buying from big well known brands from China is in my honest opinion a good option.
SirrTinkles ： maybe there is no incentive to maintain a good reputation for your products in china since someone can easily steal it. So instead, they focus on mass production and grab as much of the market as possible?
Harry Lord ： I have a Asus computer screen, so im supporting Taiwan. Will China blacklist me?
dan conlan ： I think the Gutter Oil was the worst
Jack the basenji ： It’s the difference between communism and free market. There is no incentive to make something better if you have nothing to loose.
minamoto Song ： not all of product in China is rubbish, but most of it is.
keith brierwood : We’ve had Xiaomi phones without any problems from China itself, they’re getting quite popular now in the UK, they’re opening a shop in London early next month, also the Three phone network are about to sell them as well. Will be interesting what they sell and how much.
tHaH4x0r : In my experience there’s three kinds of people in china. The first are the guys that always buy everything chinese. I have had a didi driver explain to me how ‘chinese cars are the best, and far superior to foreign cars, especially european’. Then the second kind, is people that don’t trust anything chinese. As an example of this, I met a lady that bought an iphone, purely because she didn’t trust Huawei (even though the brand is fine, same quality as apple, personally had experience with this brand, as well as xiaomi. Both were excellent in my opinion and had zero issues with them). The last kind is people that judge brands just fair and square, how they are. The last category mostly seemed to be younger folks though.
burrito rustler : In USA, we look for products MADE IN JAPAN, because they seem to last forever (well, maybe not Nissan)
Peter Scrace : Some Chinese brands such as OnePlus or Huawei for example are very good quality, it all comes down to how much you want to pay.
