TELL YOUR STORY music by ikson
Thoroughly enjoyed this! Thanks for sharing!
Very good documentary.
What an amazing documentary, thankyou. My dream is to teach English, so i made it happen and ended up in China - south China, Guangzhou . loved it!! I am back home now in New Zealand and still teaching English online to Japanese students and Russian adults' who have arrived in my beautiful country and helping them with simple conversation and our kiwi culture. thank you again for this amazing video.
多棒的纪录片，谢谢。我的梦想是教英语，所以我实现了它并最终在中国 - 华南，广州。喜欢它！我现在回到新西兰的家，仍然在网上教日本学生英语
I felt this so strongly when I visited the most remote places in Sichuan and Yunnan. I went home to Singapore (and now live in the US) and tried to tell people what I experienced in China, but unfortunately everything is tainted by the government and the media reporting about the government. This documentary brought to light everything I felt in the atmosphere and the sincerity of the Chinese people. Thank you for showing all these to the world - we need more alternative voices to go out!
When the mom was all dressed up for the visit and thanked the teachers, I honestly cried. She's so tough and she just loves her kids so much.
These children are the Future , regardless of what part of the world they are from. It really is a similar lifestyle to what my mom grew up in (Mexico) as a young child... sometimes we definitely take basic and simple things for granted and don't even enjoy the simple things in life ...... Greetings from California and I wish those small children the best success
Thank you for this great documentary about the rural life in China and the hardships that come with it. I am from Germany and when friends and I are talking about China, we always think about the megacities and large scale infrastructure projects. It was very interesting to see another side of it and how the people see education for their children as a way to a better life for future generations.
This is what the US and world should learn from China in dealing with poor and under developed rural areas. This is shining example that others should follow or take note. Why the US and the Western media don’t report such documents and actual events happening in China?
The last few minutes was so emotional, and would like to thank the director for the video which has made to rethink so many things in my life.
It's crazy how these children are so young and are already concern about money thier mentality is definitely mature.... I hope that one day they make it and go back and help other people
Damn, I wasn't planning on crying tonight, but here we are.
So in love with the people and children of this documentary. No matter what happens, whether their dreams come true or not, I just hope they have a decent life with food, laughs, and love.
Totally didn't expect to finish this in one sitting but I did, this was such a beautifully shot documentary, and I want to thank Director Takeuchi and his team, and of course the volunteer teachers for making the journey to allow us a peek into their lives. Often times, jaded city people romanticise and fetishize life in the country, we see it as a purer way of living and being more connected to nature, but sometimes, conditions are so tough. And even though to more liberal sensibilities (especially in the west) would frown at the prospect of having minorities assimilate and adopting the culture and language of the majority, we see that the villagers understand that in order to obtain a better life, I was touched by how the parents who were interviewed understood how important it is to be educated in the way of city people and being learned.
The Chinese government is almost always negatively portrayed in Western media, but in this documentary, I saw nothing but a government determined to reach out to the poorest and hard to access areas in China (the 70 year old grandma accepting Alipay, omg), free housing, providing electricity to those living high up so they don't cut down trees to protect the environment, sure, more can always be done, but through the volunteer teachers, I saw patriotic and young Chinese people reaching out to the less privileged, and I think as long as the people are united and determined to help each other out, China will get stronger and stronger. Also, kudos to the volunteer teachers helping in poverty alleviation. You guys and girls are the real MVP.
Excellent video, as an English teacher working in China it was very emotional for me to see the students and parents talking about teachers and education. I hope one day I can volunteer as a teacher in a place that values, needs teachers and take my daughter to learn from them.
Damn Javier is so inspirational. I mean a foreigner living in a completely different country that speaks another language, even in the most rural area, just to teach these kids to play football. And his Mandarin is really good! Pretty accurate pronunciation.
I enjoyed it immensely! I felt all choked up near the end when the volunteer teacher spoke his heart! Amazing man!
Thank you for a great documentary. May these children achieve their dreams and make their parents proud. Love from Malaysia.
I hope one day all the kids wish come true ..they have beautiful heart
One of the best documentaries I’ve seen, the people so nice so appreciative, thank you for posting

Really a sweet and simple and genuine spirited documentary. I felt very personally involved getting to know the life experience and people even if only a little, both adults and children. Thanks to the open heart of the director and his former volunteer teacher/current camera man. I wish all their dreams to come true yet also I wish for these lovely people to know how beautiful they already are!
Touching and insightful documentary. Beautiful people, and stunning landscapes. The traditional dress and culture of the Yi people that we saw was absolutely beautiful. It is good to see there is support for them to maintain and preserve their culture; and the apartments the government had built for them were beautiful. They had lovely architecture and seemed designed with real care. Hopefully things keep improving for these people, and they can preserve what they are able to of their beautiful culture. Thank you for making this.
So many emotions during this video. Thank you so much!

Thank you, Takeshi and all crew, for this beautiful and emocional documentary. I has been a really nice surprise in many ways. So many places and people and conditions are unknown... It s nice to have people like you and your crew taking the care and the time to do such a wonder. You are full of love and this movie make us back to our humility. Thank you again XXX
感谢 Takeshi 和所有工作人员，制作了这部美丽而感性的纪录片。我在很多方面都是一个非常好的惊喜。这么多地方、人和条件都是未知的......很高兴有像你和你的工作人员这样的人
"Say your dream out LOUD" Your words are Spells. You are the Magician
The whole story is so precious, beautiful. I just love these people, from afar, the USA. They are all very intelligent, sweet, just never had the opportunity to advance. Bless you all, including the filming crew.
Those kids can bring changes to their situations... They are super angels. Thank you so much for this beautiful documentary. Praying for success and prosperity for those kids and their families. Love and peace from India
This what the US government should learn how to resolve the serious homeless issue in the US. The bottom line is that the US government doesn’t have the determination or willingness of dealing and resolving the problem like Chinese government does. Chinese government is a people oriented government who put the needs of people in the first position. Share of wealth is a must in every development stages in Chinese society. That is the fundamental difference between China and the the US. So don’t use the word ‘communist’ to scare of people. We need to look at the end results and not just meaning less and empty words of what is so called ‘democracy’ or ‘freedom’. China is a shining example of how to lift poverty and improve the life of millions. The US is not.

Thank you for educating us , a great documentary. May these children achieve their dreams and good life.
Love from London
I'm touched and impressed by the sincerity of these people. I do hope some day I could come to this place and do at least something no matter how small for these people. Bless your heart for caring for these people. Keep up the good work.
The ending really made me cry. I have some relatives who live in parts of Sichuan, China with conditions like this. I always hoped they are doing well.
